Once these two steps have been completed, women going through recruitment will be officially registered with Panhellenic Council.
Panhellenic is thrilled that you wanted to learn more about Southern Miss’ strong Greek community. The seven chapters and Panhellenic encourage you to register for Formal Recruitment (September 2-7, 2010 – Labor Day weekend).
Over the summer, you will receive a few items in the mail and email from Panhellenic and encourage you to check out our website (www.southernmissgreeks.com) which features the 24 fraternities and sororities at Southern Miss and follow us on Twitter at ‘SouthernMissCPC’! There will be a Facebook Page (www.panhellenicfacebook.com ) in the coming weeks regarding recruitment as well. Encourage your Southern Miss friends to register at www.southernmisscpc.com! The deadline to register is August 30, 2010 at 11:59pm.
Previews: If you will be attending a summer Preview, please come see the Gamma Rho Chi’s at the Greek Session and at the Involvement Fair. At all Freshman Previews, there will be a “Eagle After Hours” at the Power House at night and the Gamma Chi’s will be there to sing karaoke, play games, etc.
Letters of Recommendations: The “letters of rec” are a great way for the chapters to “be introduced to you” prior to recruitment beginning in September. Letters need to be received before Recruitment begins, if possible. If letters are being provided on your behalf, the letters can be mailed to the Office of Greek Life (see below) with the sorority’s name written on the outside. Each sorority has a specific form to be filled out and can be found at the sorority’s inter/national website by the alumna.
